Day 4 Banff Residency 3rd March 16

Artist introduction day .   Today we had the opportunity to share a 10 minute overview of our practice and the proposed project we aim to work on during our time here at the centre with fellow participants and faculty.  As those of you who know me can confirm this usually sends me into a spin although I am happy to say I got through it with out to many stumbles.  I think I was more excited to see all the other artist work and hear about there practice and the variety of different, ideas,  approaches, mediums and materials being used.   They are all very cleaver and amazing artists if anyone is interested in looking them up here is a list of their names:

Gabrielle Amodeo (NZ), Tyler Hilton (CAN), Ingrid Kroenig (CAN), Nial McClelland (CAN), Norma Jean Mac Lean (CAN), Myriam Dion (CAN), Jan Kabatoff (CAN), Sasha Opeiko (HGK), Laura Kelly (IRE), Tyler Jordan (CAN), Laura Findlay (CAN), Andrew Tarrant (CAN), Brenda ? (CAN)

I also managed to get one small painting done (just getting warmed up), two marquettes made from folded cardboard and one made from pieces of scrap veneer.   I really hope that I can use the time to experiment with some other materials/processes, its a huge learning curve that I am hoping to make the most of!
